Take your ahi and make sure it’s always fresh and bright by smell and color and sight.
Clean up any trimmings if needed (usually the fish market will have sashimi blocks which are clean & ready to go).
Cube into 1/2 inch bites- cutting against the grain.
Place the fish in a large bowl.
Make the marinade with all of the remaining ingredients.
Pour the marinade over the ahi and stir to mix thoroughly.
Cover and wrap and let it marinate in the fridge for 1 hour; up to 2 hours for the flavors to combine.
Serve with greens, microgreens, rice, crackers, potato chips or any other garnish that you enjoy! In Hawaii, Shiso leaves are loved and used with this dish!
Tofu can be substituted for the Ahi. Buy Organic Tofu, drain water. Cube and marinated as instructed!
